CROATIA'S ECOREGIONS

Croatia has four biogeographical regions:

  • Mediterranean along coast
  • Alpine in Gorski Kotar and Lika
  • Pannonian alone Danube and Drava
  • Continental in remaining regions

In contrast, Croatia has only three ecoregions:

  • Pannonian mixed forests
  • Dinaric mountains mixed forests
  • Illyrian deciduous forests
